I liked all of the information about child emotional stages/about stressors in life; about how past conflict can act as triggers; how stepping away from conflict is good and not bad and I should not be made to feel bad for stepping away from a conflict; how it is important to at least parallel parent even if the relationship is high conflict just try not to respond to emotional/agressive/commanding language and try to redirect to informational and helpful conversation.

I appreciated how this program helped me slow down and reflect on both my emotional journey and my role as a co-parent. The way each unit built on the last made it easier to process my experiences, especially the parts about grief, resilience and understanding conflict. I really liked the tools and examples - they felt practical and gave me real strategies I could apply, not just theories. Most of all, I liked how the program helped me focus on what’s best for my children, while also reminding me that my well-being matters too. This program has taught me that I’m doing my very best with co-parenting. I could use some work in communication and not making it a high level conflict but it’s very difficult. The steps I’ve done to make progress with my co-parent is what I’ve been taught throughout this program. I know I’m not failing and I know I want our kids to have a relationship with both parents. I just wish my co-parent would see the importance in the things I see important for our children.

I really benefited from the unit that discussed domestic violence in the relationship and how to overcome those feelings or triggers in the midst of learning to co-parent. I think that was my biggest hurtle and caused me the most anger, but I feel validated and seen. I did not think anyone would believe me because my spouse would say he could make me look crazy and nobody would, but the things described were situations I have been through. It must me a common occurrence in DV relationships to be included in here and that felt validating to me. The lack of accountability from my spouse has allowed resentment to fester inside of me which comes out in the way I communicate to him. All I wanted was him to say, "yes I did abuse you" and validated my abuse. Reading similar stories through this program gave me the validation I needed to start healing. I just wanted to feel seen and heard and I did. This has released a lot of tension and emotions for me and I am just ready to move on, be the best mother I can be and co parent cordially for the sake of our son.
